Know When to Take Risks on the Pickleball Court

Quick Tips Pickle4 Team 08-21-2025

Pickleball is a game of percentages. Every shot is a choice: play it safe or go for a winner. High-percentage shots keep the rally going, while riskier shots might win the point or hand it to your opponents. If you’re going to take chances, the smartest time to do it is when you’re serving. A missed shot while serving might be a missed opportunity, but it won’t result in a point for your opponents. On the flip side, taking a risk while receiving could give your opponents the point outright. So next time you’re feeling bold, go for that aggressive shot on the serve, but think twice before going for a risky return. Play smart, play the percentages, and know when the reward is worth the risk.
